How to Build Face Muscles
When you have toned muscles in your face, you are less likely to develop wrinkles and sags. This is especially important in the cheeks, jowls and chin areas. Facial exercises are very easy to do, but they are not something you think about when you're in the gym toning your buttocks. The principles of exercising your face are the same as exercising any other muscle in your body. The only difference is that the face has many small muscles that work in unison to perform any activity.

How to Build Face Muscles
-
1
Place an unsharpened pencil in your mouth with the unsharpened end behind your lips but in front of your teeth. Allow the pencil to extend straight in front of you while you hold it in place with your lips. Hold this position for as long as you can and then rest. Perform a set of 10 repetitions.
-
2
Place the pencil in the same position that you used in Step 1. Pucker your lips around the pencil in an exaggerated hold that clenches the muscles around your mouth. Hold this until your mouth muscles burn, then rest. Repeat for a set of 10.

3
Place each index finger over each respective eye. Gently pull your finger down, pulling your eyelid with it as you raise your eyebrows. This creates resistance to build your forehead muscles. Repeat this for a set of 10.
-
4
Place your palm on the outside of your checks. Make a big smile. By pulling your hands toward your nose in a slight downward motion, you create resistance against the muscles needed in a smile.
-
5
Tilt your head back, looking up to the ceiling. Alternate making your lips round and relaxed, counting to 10 with each motion. Repeat for a set of 20. This helps fight a double chin.
-
6
Keep your head tilted up. Bring your lower lip up and over your upper lip and hold this for a count of 10. Rest and then repeat for another set of 10.
