Press down the line-release mechanism to allow removal of the old line. Remove the old or broken line.

Cut the new line to the appropriate length. Refer to the operations manual of your trimmer and universal head to determine the best trimmer-line length.

Thread the new line through the eyelets on the trimmer head. Make sure both sides of the line are even; adjust if necessary.

Disengage the line-release mechanism to lock the line in place.

Tips & Warnings
Install the proper line for your job. Thicker lines are ideal for thicker brush and weeds, while thinner lines are appropriate for grass.
Be sure your trimmer is completely powered off and disconnected from a power source to ensure it does not accidentally engage while the line is being changed. The fast-moving line can cause injury.
