Creating master resell rights (MRR) is a popular way for e-book, document, and other informational product creators to enhance the popularity and profitability of their own product. Establishing master resell rights on a document essentially gives the customer or purchaser the right to sell the document as well, without giving them the ability to edit or claim the work as their own.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Word processor
  1. Step 1

Decide if you want to give any rights to the purchaser other than master resell rights (MRR). For example, master resell rights on a document can be combined with private label rights (PLR), which is the ability of the purchaser to brand the document with his own name and act as document creator.

  2. Step 2

Type the master resell rights information and all relevant information on the title page or first page of the document in a word processing software such as Microsoft Word. List the different rights that are being included, including the ability to re-sell the document with resell rights being passed on.

Include other pertinent information, such as whether the document can be given away, whether there is a minimum price for re-selling the document or whether the document can be added to paid membership websites.

  3. Step 3

Create a simple "Read me" text file (.txt) or any additional word processing document to be distributed along with the document. In this file, include the same information as you entered on the first page of the document. Clearly delineate any resell rights that are being included, whether resell rights are being passed on as they typically are with master resell rights (MRR), and other important information concerning modifications of the document content or adjustments to price that can be made.
