Instructions

    • 1

Fill the tub with warm water. Don't overfill it; you want just enough water to run the jets effectively.

    • 2

Add 5 cups of vinegar to the water in the tub. White, distilled vinegar is the most common choice, but any form of vinegar will do as long as it is not mixed with any other product. Don't add any more than 5 cups of vinegar, or it may be difficult to rid your tub of the vinegar smell once you have completed the cleaning process.

    • 3

Turn on the jets. Run them run for 15 to 20 minutes. This gives the vinegar time to break down any calcium build-up in the jets. The acidic property of the vinegar removes dirt, mold, grime and other forms of bacteria.

    • 4

Turn off the jets and allow the vinegar to continue permeating the water for another 15 minutes.

    • 5

Drain the water and gently scrub away any leftover dirt or grime. Use a soft cloth or sponge so you don't scratch the surface of the tub.

    • 6

Rinse the tub with cool water. Because you are not using a chemically-based cleanser, you don't have to worry about rinsing thoroughly. Turn on the shower and allow the water to run over your tub for several minutes to wash away any excess vinegar.
