Make your Internet Explorer browser look exactly the way you want by choosing your own color scheme. Even better, change your color scheme as often as you want to suit your mood. The process is simple.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet Explorer 8
  1. Step 1

Open your Internet Explorer browser and click the "Tools" tab in the upper right corner of the browser. Select "Internet Options" from the drop-down menu.

  2. Step 2

Find the "Appearance" section at the bottom of the next window that appears. Click the "Colors" button.

  3. Step 3

Uncheck the box "Use Windows Colors." When you uncheck this box, the separate options for choosing colors will become active and you will be able to make your color choices.

  4. Step 4

Click each color box to the right of the "Text," "Background," "Visited" and "Unvisited" options. Select the color of your choice for each of these options. If you also wish to choose a color to denote "Hover," check the "Use Hover Color" box at the top of the window. Click on the color box to the right of the "Hover" option to select this color also.

  5. Step 5

Click "OK" to finish the selection process and save your new color choices. Click "OK" again to close the "Internet Options" window.
