Instructions

    • 1

Jack the car up and use the socket wrench to remove the lugnuts. Pull the wheel off and use the screwdriver to pry the grease cup (the knob found in the center of the hub) out of the hub.

    • 2

Pull the cotter pin out of the castle nut (which is located under the grease cup) with the pliers and then remove the castle nut with a socket wrench. Pull the hub assembly away from the spindle (you may have to loosen it with a few hammer strikes) and pry the bearing grease seal out of the center of the hub with the flat blade screwdriver. Then remove the bearing. Do this for the inner & outer bearings.

    • 3

Place the wheel hub assembly into the press. Apply pressure with he press until the bearing races are pressed out of the hub assembly. Insert the new bearing races and use the press to secure the races into place.

    • 4

Place a thick layer of grease over the entire unit and then install the new bearings and new grease seals into the hub. Install the entire hub back onto the spindle and tighten the castlenut down with the socket wrench. Make sure the bearings are seated solidly to the spindle then insert a new cotter pin and lightly tap the grease cup back into place over the castle nut with the hammer.

    • 5

Reinstall the wheel on the wheel studs and tighten the lugnuts down with the socket wrench. Repeat Steps 1-5 for the other rear wheel on the Prelude if need be.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure to set the parking brake when you jack the car up.

  • If you don't have a bearing press, take the hub assembly to a mechanic to have the races replaced.
