How to Make Homemade Fragrance Recipes

Use water and oils to make homemade fragrances. Store-bought fragrances only offer so many combinations and can contain alcohol or other chemicals. Fragrance oils are made with synthetic products and cost less. Essential oils come from flowers, fruit and other items in nature. Essential oils cost more and have a stronger scent. Either type of oil will work. Buy the oils from craft stores, candle shops and stores that sell candles.

  • Several bottles of fragrance oil or essential oil
  • Empty perfume bottle or pray bottle

      Fill the clean bottle 3/4 the way with water.

      Pour in the oils. Use any combination you want. Choose scents that complement each other, like apple and cinnamon or lavender and vanilla. Start off by putting one drop of each scent. The stronger the fragrance, the less you need.

      Screw the lid on and shake well.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use small bottles to give away as gifts. Tie raffia or ribbon around the top to decorate.
