How to Uninstall Magnifier With Vista

Magnifier is a built-in utility with both Windows XP and Vista that is capable of enlarging a certain portion of the computer display for people with poor eyesight. The name comes from the appearance of the working program that resembles an actual magnifying glass. However, if you have a normal vision or the magnifier is simply annoying, you can disable it using the Windows features. As Magnifier is a built-in portion of the operating system itself, it cannot be uninstalled, but only permanently disabled.

Instructions

    • 1

Click on the "Start" menu and then on "All Programs."

    • 2

Click on the "Accessories" folder and the select "Ease of Access."

    • 3

Click on the "Ease of Access Center" and then on the "Make Computer Easier to See" icon.

    • 4

Scroll down and uncheck the box next to "Turn on Magnifier," and then press on "Save."

    • 5

Reboot your computer. Magnifier should now be disabled.
