Fill a bucket with water and pour in 1/4 cup of white vinegar for every quart of water. The vinegar solution can be applied with a mop and used on a regular basis. White vinegar acts as a sanitizer and is considered a mild cleaning agent.

2
Pour a capful of rubbing alcohol into a bucket and add a gallon of warm water. Not only will the rubbing alcohol clean and sanitize your ceramic tile, it will also help clean the grout when it is applied with a mop.

Add a tablespoon of Borax soap to two tablespoons of ammonia, in a bucket. Add a gallon of water to the two and apply the solution with a mop. The Borax will help to dissolve tough stains and the ammonia will also help to clean and sterilize the ceramic tile.

Dilute a capful of household cleaner in a gallon of water, and mop the floor. A household cleaner such as Fantastic or Pine Sol will work wonders on grime and stained grout.

Try bleach. If all else fails and the milder solutions just can't cut it, mix up a bleach solution. This can be done by adding a capful of chlorine bleach to a gallon of water. Mix the bleach solution in a bucket, and apply with a mop.

Tips & Warnings
Commercial tile cleaners are also available for purchase in stores and online.
Make sure the ceramic tile is dried thoroughly before anyone walks on it. Ceramic tile can be very slippery when it is wet, and if someone were to slip and fall on it, a serious injury could occur.
Be careful when you are using bleach for cleaning. Even when bleach is diluted, it can cause permanent staining.
Never mix bleach with ammonia. Toxic fumes result.
