How to Get Rid of Netflix Popup

Pop-ups are an annoying marketing scheme. They show up right when you are in the middle of an important Web search. Although you have blocked all pop-ups on your browser, they still find a way in. How? They use registry entries that have been stored in your computer or search assistants installed onto your computer without your knowing. Even files found in your temporary Internet files can trigger pop-ups.

Here is what you need to do to get rid of these NetFlix and other pop-ups.

Instructions

  1. Temporary Files

    • 1

Remove all temporary files and history listings.

    • 2

For Internet Explorer, select "Internet Options" in your Control Panel. You will see a listing that says "Delete all" on this tab, select it and allow it to delete all the temp files and your history.

    • 3

For Firefox, access your Tools Menu and select""Options." Select "Clear all Private Data."

    • 4

Run Disc Scan. This is your System Tools inside Accessories on your Start Menu. All you have to do is ensure that the selected listing is your hard drive.

    • 5

Click "OK" to start this process. This will remove any other temp files and unnecessary download files that are hiding in your computer.

    Spyware and Adware

    • 6

Run Spybot Search & Destroy. This may take an hour or two depending on the size of your hard drive and the amount of data that is stored within it.

    • 7

Select "Search for Problems." Once Spybot has finished scanning your computer, select the check boxes next to each entry.

    • 8

Select "Fix Problems." If Spybot reports back to you that some of the problems could not be fixed due to a program called My Way Search Assistant, continue to Step 4.

    • 9

Remove My Way Search Assistant by selecting "Add or change a Program" in Control Panel. Once the populated list of programs loads, find and select "My Way Search Assistant."

    • 10

Select "Remove Program." Select "Yes" when asked if you are sure. Once it has deleted, it will disappear from your program list.

My Way Search Assistant is a spyware device that is self installing and it will override your pop-up blockers and website blocking. It allows pop-up advertisements to execute on your computer.
