How to Deal With Gallbladder Attacks When Pregnant

Pregnancy brings on a lot of discomfort for some women, and with that discomfort comes painful conditions like heartburn and gallbladder attacks. Dealing with these gallbladder attacks requires patience and tenacity while you are pregnant.

• Electric heating pad (or hot water bottle)
• Pillows

Instructions

1. Rest on your back, with some pillows propped under you for comfort.

2. Apply the electric heating pad to the area surrounding your gallbladder, which is your upper-right torso. The heat will soothe the pain and calm the throbbing sensations while you try to relax.

3. Breathe in deep and exhale. Remember that the pain will pass shortly. Anxiety can further complicate the problem.

4. Avoid fatty foods like fried chicken, bacon and fast food meals. The gallbladder is responsible for breaking down fats, and the pain is associated with its inability to do so properly.

5. Make an appointment with your physician to consider gallbladder removal surgery. The surgery is ordinarily safe during pregnancy.
