How to Become a Pro Spirit Cheerleader
Pro Spirit is a successful competitive cheerleading program located in McKinney, Texas, just north of Dallas. The gym offers a year-round schedule of classes, summer camps and special events. Cheerleading for competition is a physically demanding commitment, requiring a high level of dedication.

Build your skills. In order to pass tryouts, certain skills are required for each age group. Level 1 requirements, for example, are mastery of the forward roll, handstand, cartwheel, round off, back walk over and front walk over. Practice until your form and techniques are perfect.

Get ready for tryouts. During the moths of March and April, before tryouts begin, Pro Spirit offers a schedule of clinics, informational open house meetings for parents and children, tours of the facilities and gym workouts.

Download the information packet and forms from pro-spirit.com. Fill out the registration form, ACH direct form and agreement form. Turn in completed forms before the deadline with the registration fee, a picture of yourself (head shot) and a copy of your birth certificate.

Attend the tryouts for your age and skill level, wearing black shorts, black t-shirt or black sports bra and athletic shoes with your hair up in a bun or pony tail.

Tips & Warnings
The Pro Spirit team is looking for energy, sharp movements, timing, showmanship and the ability to move with the music, along with strength and flexibility.
If you are trying out for level 5, you and your parents must attend a parent meeting before tryouts.
Competitive cheerleading is very demanding in terms of time and physical ability and
can also be very expensive.
