How to Trailer a Camaro
Transporting your Camaro can be safe and hassle-free. The most difficult task is to make sure the car is centered on the trailer and all four wheels are sitting firmly on the bed of the trailer. The heavy-duty ratchet straps will provide the necessary holding power to ensure the car does not move when transiting. Be sure that the straps are wrapped around the solid portion of the frame. The axles or frame rails are the strongest part of your undercarriage. Never strap to a body part.
Things You'll Need
- 15 to 20-foot flatbed trailer
- 2 ramps measuring at least 3 to 4 feet
- Heavy-duty ratchet straps
Instructions
-
Loading the Camaro
-
1
Back the trailer to an area with enough space to load the car. Ensure the parking brake is set on the vehicle and the vehicle is not in gear.
-
2
Pull the Camaro at least 4 feet from the back of the trailer. You will need room to lay the ramps down.
-
-
3
Lay the ramps from the back of the trailer to the front of the wheels. Ensure the ramps are straight.
-
4
Drive the Camaro up on the ramps and on the trailer. Pull the car to where the bumper is at the front of the trailer.
-
5
Place the car in park (unless the car is a manual transmission, place in neutral). Set the parking brake.
Strapping the Camaro Down
-
6
Strap the front of the car down from each side of the vehicle. Run the strap around the frame rail. The strap needs to be hooked from the railing of the trailer.
-
7
Strap the center by running the strap down the middle of the cross-member underneath the body. Be sure to strap to the railing of the trailer. You can also use the front axle of the car.
-
8
Strap the back of the car from the rear axle to the railing of the trailer. Be sure the straps are tight.
-
9
Tighten all the straps to take out any free play. The ratchet straps will freeze the car in every directions.
-
10
Chock the front and the back wheels. This will also prevent unnecessary movement of the car.

Tips & Warnings
A heavy-duty ratchet strap will be perfect in transporting an automobile. The straps will wrap around the frame, and you will be able to use the hook to catch on to the strap. When you ratchet the strap that will stress it enough causing the perfect amount of tension on the ratchet strap.
Inspect all your ratchet straps for tears.
Be sure to load the car on level ground.
