  1. Creating Spot Colors in Photoshop

      Open Adobe Photoshop and bring up your image by selecting "File -> Open" from the Control menu and locating it on your computer.

      Make a selection of the area of the image you wish to apply a spot color to using one of the selection tools (Pen, Magic Wand, Lasso, etc.)

      Select the "Channels" palette at the right of the canvas. If it does not appear there, select "Window -> Channels" from the control menu. Select the panel drop-down from the upper right of the Channels palette and select "New Spot Channel."

      Click the "Color" swatch and select the color you wish to create as a spot color. Click OK and the spot color will be created and applied to your selection.

      Save your image.
