Use Preen Garden Weed Preventer during any season around established plants. The product should not be used during seeding. After flowering plants have germinated or have grown to two to three inches, Preen may be applied. Applying the product earlier will prevent the non-established plant from growing. When used incorporated into soil, Preen can be used when seeding or mulching. Preen's website recommends adding Preen as early in the planting process as possible to "eliminate the need for hand-weeding."
It may rain after application. Rain should not wash the product from the soil. To continue to have the top results and fewer weeds, Preen.com recommends reapplying the product every nine to 12 weeks.
