Measure the part of the wall that you want to cover with tulle. Write the measurement down on your paper.

Determine the design you would like to create with the tulle. Do you want it to drape down? If so, how far and how frequently? Or, are you going to hang the tulle like curtains?

Add and multiply using your measurements to determine the amount of tulle you'll need.
If you plan to hang the tulle across the wall like curtains, measure the distance from the ceiling to the floor. Then use the measurements of the tulle you'll purchase. If the tulle is three feet wide, for example, and it's eight feet from the floor to the ceiling and the wall is ten feet wide, you would need to figure out how many feet of width needed and how long each piece should be. Considering you'll likely want to overlap the tulle so it falls like drapes, you'll want five pieces of tulle that are each three feet wide and nine feet long. This allows for extra material that you can easily adjust as necessary.
If you'd like to drape the tulle across that same wall, multiply the width of the wall by three or four (depending on how deep you want the dips to be), which means you'll want 30 to 40 feet of tulle.
