Tenderize meat naturally and buy the cheaper cuts and eat well. Beef cuts like shoulder roast and chuck roast as well as round steak and cuts that do not have much marbling are often tough, and it seems that the longer they cook, the tougher they get.

A little patience and an interest in frugal living will make you a reputation as a wonderful cook with very inexpensive cuts of meat.

There are several ways to cook cheap cuts of meat and make them delicious and tender. Of course you probably already know about meat tenderizer, marinade, and maybe even pineapple. Here are some ways to tenderize meat naturally that you may not have tried.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A cheap cut of meat
  • tea
  • vinegar
  • kiwi
  • pineapple
  1. Step 1

    Tenderize meat naturally with tea.

Make a cup of tea with a teabag and hot water. Once you brown the meat and prepare it to cook as you like, add the tea to the pan. If you need to add more liquid, make another cup of tea and add to the meat.

  2. Step 2

    Tenderize meat with kiwi fruit.

If kiwi fruit is available, cook the meat with kiwi for an interesting flavor and very tender meat.

  3. Step 3

    Try vinegar to tenderize meat.

Add a tablespoon of vinegar to the liquid after it is bubbling and the meat has started to cook. It is surprising how much difference this will make in the tenderness of the cheaper cuts of meat.

This method has been around for years in cooking with wine, since there are similar properties in wine and vinegar. The vinegar seems to not affect the taste and tenderizes meat naturally.
