How to Fix Pimples
How to Treat Pimples. People of all ages and sexes get pimples (otherwise known as acne). These painful bumps can leave acne scars or painful bumps under the skin if not treated properly. While there is no immediate cure for pimples, using these steps, over time, you too can have clearer skin.

First, if you have severe acne, you may want to seek the attention of a dermatologist. They can prescribe you strong acne medications (be careful, some make you very sensitive to sunlight!). If you don't want to visit a dermatologist or want to try a different approach, you'll first need to go to your local chain store.

Next, in the store, ask the pharmacy counter for an over the counter benzoyl peroxide face wash. It can be a generic brand, look at the label, most over the counter washes to treat pimples are around 2% benzoyl peroxide, a doctor can prescribe you a higher concentration wash. There are also many other shelf brands that contain benzoyl peroxide, pick the one with the highest concentration of ingredient, stay away from ones with "scrubbing beads", these can only further irritate your skin.

Next, you're going to find a salicylic acid lotion. I like "Aveeno Clear Complexion" lotion with 2.5% salicylic acid to treat acne, but there are several different versions out there. Pick the one with the highest concentration of active ingredient to treat pimples.

Now, every night and day you're going to wash your face with the benzoyl peroxide wash (you can use it on your body too if needed!). Apply it gently with your fingers (washcloths are irritating to skin), work it up to a lather, then let it sit for 30 seconds on your skin. This can be done in the shower or in front of your sink.

Next, after you've washed your face with the benzoyl peroxide wash, dry it softly with a clean towel using a blotting motion, not a "rubbing" motion with your towel. If you rub your face, you can spread pimples/acne to other parts of your face. After your face is dry, apply the salicylic acid lotion you've purchased. It should be non-comedogenic (won't clog pores) and have salicylic acid in it to fight pimples.

6
Finally, do this treatment on a daily basis. During this time, do NOT touch your face for any reason or pick at anything, this only spreads pimples to other parts of your face. Within a week or two, you will notice a big difference. Good luck!
