Lose Sodium in Your Diet

Sodium is the culprit for keeping you unhealthy. For good health leave the offending ingredient out of your recipes and reduce your daily intake of sodium on uncooked foods.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Read the back label or the nutrition label of the foods you purchase from the grocery before checking out. Sodium levels are in the hundreds and thousands in the frozen and canned meals that is bought daily. It seems that America is more interested in preserving foods instead of keeping its inhabitants healthy. You should consume no more than 1700 grams of sodium a day for good health. Amazingly, foods grown from the soil is void of sodium like fruits and vegetables.

  2. Step 2

Be on the look out for packaged low sodium products. When the manufacturers stamp their products low sodium the product must be as advertised. Low sodium means that the food has a limited supply of salt in comparison with other foods in the same food category.

  3. Step 3

Do not buy packaged foods or canned foods unless clearly marked low sodium. You may pay a bit more for the product but as the educated consumer interested in good health, the few cents increase if worth breaking the bank.
