Becoming a travel agent is as easy as 1-2-3, however landing the job requires, credibility and that is all on you!

Things You'll Need:

  • resume
  • diploma
  • computer
  1. Step 1

    Attend a certificate or associate program in travel business. Also, most liberal arts or business degree with a few training would do just as well.

  2. Step 2

    Learn a second language like, Spanish, mandarin Chinese etc, this will aid you in networking and relationship with clients.

  3. Step 3

    Use online search engine to research top agencies that are hiring and customize your cover letter with descriptive words from the ads. Ask your family, friends or business colleagues about their next travel date. You can start your own agency.

  4. Step 4

    Try college students, business and organization for group travel dates and book them for the best rates available. If you have already landed the travel agent job is wise to also consider entrepreneurial self employment opportunities because travel can be volatile as the stock market.
