How to Make a Beautiful No-Sew Tutu With Little Cutting
Watching a young child as she pirouettes and prances about in her new tutu is a rewarding experience. Tutus are commonly made from a material called tulle. This sheer, airy fabric lends a whimsical appeal to this costume piece. Instead of spending money on a store-bought tutu, create your own with no sewing and little cutting.

1
Measure the width of the wearer's waist. Cut a piece of elastic at least ½ inch thick to a length 3 inches shorter than the measurement.
-
2
Form an elastic band with the strip by placing each end into a jewelry crimp. Pinch the crimp tight with pliers.

3
Fold a piece of tulle material in half so it measures the length you want your beautiful tutu. Cut the material into strips at least 3 inches wide. Folding it in half reduces the amount of cutting you need.
-
4
Separate the cut pieces. Take one and tie it and fold it in half over the elastic band, tying it in a knot. Repeat the folding and knotting process until the entire elastic band is covered with the fabric.

Add any adornments or embellishments you wish. Tie a large ribbon and pin it to the back. Pin smaller ribbons throughout the tutu. Glue small plastic charms to the strips.
