If you thought your role as Santa was merely a unpaid position that required you to stay up late on Christmas eve assembling all the toys the real Santa left behind in a heap; you are in for a pleasant surprise. Santa for Hire is currently taking applications for Santas across the United States. Not only do you get a chance to be Santa to children across the globe, you can be paid to entertain the little ones as well.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Resume
  • Job Application
  • Photos
  • Background Check
  1. Step 1

Gather up your credentials and get ready to fill out the application. (See resources for a link to the application) Be prepared to provide three professional photos of you as Santa and references pertaining to your role as Santa. Although it does not expressly say so, I think a reference from Mrs. Claus attesting to your long Christmas eves assembling toys is in order.

  2. Step 2

Spiff up that resume to highlight your experience playing the role of Santa. Keep in mind those volunteer appearances you have made, but do omit your escapades at the last office party. Of course, you will need a resume of your regular work experience too.

  3. Step 3

Include proof of a recent background check as this is required by Santa for Hire for insurance purposes and insures the safety of kids too.

  4. Step 4

Complete the section on your physical appearance. This is one time when plump really is pleasing, but do not worry if you are on the thin side – belly padding is available.

  5. Step 5

Attach it all in an email and send the application off to complete the application process.

  6. Step 6

Consider supplementing your income as Santa by running an ad in the classified ads in your local paper as a Santa for Hire. Many organizations hire Santa to present gifts at office parties, children’s organizations and Christmas Celebrations.

  7. Step 7

Let friends and family (at least the grown up ones) know you are available to those looking to hire Santa for the holidays.

  8. Step 8

Have fun and enjoy your role as Santa this Christmas as you make a little extra cash to tuck away for something special under the tree.
