1. Pick up any dog poop in your yard. Making feces unaviable for you dog to eat is the first obvious step in preventing your dog from eating poop. If it's not around, the chances of it being eating are eliminated.

2. Add a teaspoon of meat tenderizer to your dog's food. Meat tenderizer helps break down any undigested food particles in your dog's poop. These left over food particles are what is appealing to your dog and makes their poop seem desirable. Yuck.

3. Buy a dog food that is high in fiber. Veterinarians say that a lack of fiber can cause dogs to eat their own feces to fill the void. Ask for a fiber rich dog food the next time you go to your local pet store.

4. Take your dog to the vet. Sometimes unknown medical conditions can prevent your dog from digesting his or her food properly. This in turn leaves large undigested food particles in their feces that can smell like a fresh meal to your dog.
