Things You'll Need:
- Thoughtful creativity
- Planning
-
Step 1
Be thoughtful, and creative. My dream Valentine’s Day would be to wake up to breakfast in bed and my first clue hidden under my plate. I don’t want fleeting gratification I want a day…and a night of fun, romance and adventure. Use your extra planning time to set up a romantic scavenger hunt. Enlist the help of friends and co-workers to help lead your lady, or gentleman from clue to clue. Each clue should lead to a special and romantic outing or the promise of one in the near future. As an example let’s say that first breakfast tray clue leads me to my boss at work, and my boss hands me an envelope containing concert tickets for next month and my next clue. My next clue leads me to my sister’s house who gives me directions to a restaurant where I meet my Valentine for a romantic dinner. At the end of Dinner the waiter hands the check to my date, and the next clue to me. The last clue leads me home where a hot bubble bath and beautiful, not skanky…(unless your into that) new lingerie await me. In the mirror I find my last clue leading back to…well wherever, you get the picture. Why give a gift and be done with it when you can drag the romance and excitement out all day for your Valentine.

Step 2
Have a REAL adventure. If you truly want to give Jewelry or perhaps a very special piece of Jewelry and you and your mate are the outgoing adventures types find the nearest treasure hunting location and schedule a day of searching for jewels and buried treasure. You can always find a way to sneak a pre polished and already set treasure into his or her search path.
-
Step 3
Get away from it all. Whether you can afford to take your Valentine to a warmer clime during those chilly February nights or not you can take them away from the hassle of every day life. If you’re on a budget try for a moderately priced hotel near you. Just driving for an hour will make them feel as though they are leaving the stress behind. And spending the evening in a hotel will allow you both to relax and enjoy your evening without looking around and seeing all of the undone household chores that await you when the romantic cloud of Valentine’s Day has passed.
-
Step 4
Be adult about it. Head to an adult shop and pick up fun and sexy games for the two of you to laugh over and play together. Or play your own adult versions of games you already have. Strip poker and Twister are always a fave. Spend the night in…and play.
-
Step 5
Thrill the thrill seeker. Dig into your memories and see if you can think of something that they mentioned always wanting to do but never getting to for whatever reason. Whether it’s taking a ballroom dancing class or skydiving, (at your own risk of course) try scheduling a thrilling event they have been waiting their whole lives for. If it is something you are comfortable with doing along side them dive in and make it fun and romantic. If you’re not up for jumping out of a perfectly good airplane, wait on the ground and cheer your thrill seeking honey on. When using this idea for something extreme, do make sure they REALLY want to do it before paying for it. To be sure offer to pay for skydiving classes but don’t tell them you have a jump planned for Valentine’s Day, if they don’t jump at the chance to take classes…they probably won’t jump period. If they always wanted to sing on a stage, don’t book a karaoke night until you know stage fright is not the reason it’s still an unfulfilled dream.

Step 6
Be the perfect Valentine. This one is easiest of all and can even be free. Be thoughtful and romantic all year long and when Valentine’s Day rolls around sit on your bum and do nothing. When he or she asks what the deal is, tell her Cupid asked you to take the day off so the rest of us could have some romance in our lives.
