How to Lubricate an Elliptical

Using an elliptical machine is a great way to stay in shape, but these machines are also costly. If you own one, you surely do not want an expensive machine making squeaking and groaning sounds due to poor maintenance and lubrication. A screwdriver and some lubricating grease are all you need to lubricate and maintain your elliptical machine and keep it in great shape.

Things You'll Need

• 14-oz. container of lubricating grease
• cross-tip screwdriver
• Q-tip

Instructions

1. Take out the screws in your elliptical machine with the screwdriver. They are small, so be careful not to lose them.

2. Apply a thin coat of grease to each screw. Simply dipping the screws in the grease container lightly will work, or you can apply the grease with a Q-tip.

3. Using a Q-tip, apply a small amount of the lubricating grease into each screw hole.

4. Put each screw back in its correct spot. Your elliptical machine should now sound and run as good as new.

Tips & Warnings

• Repeat these steps once every six months to keep the machine in optimal condition.
