How to Remove Schlage Doorknobs
Schlage is a manufacturer of door knobs, deadbolts and other door hardware. Schlage offers many styles and finishes of hardware that can complement your décor and beautify any room in your home. Removing and replacing a door knob may sound like a difficult task, but if you have a Phillips-head screwdriver and a couple of spare minutes, you can swap out a Schlage doorknob with very little guidance. Locate the mounting screws on your Schlage doorknob. The mounting screws are on the inside chassis, which corresponds to the side on the inside of the room.

Unscrew the two mounting screws with a Phillips-head screwdriver and set them aside in a container.

Open the door so that you can access both halves of the doorknob. Grasp the inside chassis with one hand and the outside chassis with the other. Gently pull the two halves apart to separate them and remove them from the door. Set the two sections in your container.

Position yourself so that you can see the latch mechanism on the side of the door. Use your screwdriver to remove the two screws that hold the latch in place.

Slide the latch mechanism out of the side of the door. Place the latch and the two screws in your container.
