Things You'll Need:
- Socket wrench
- Socket set
- pliers

Step 1
Remove the cotter pin on the back of the brake pedal that secures the brake pin at the bottom of the pedal.

Step 2
Slide the brake pin out of the brake pedal mounting bracket and pull the brake pedal up off the brake booster.

Step 3
Remove the electrical plug from the back of the brake light switch. Squeeze the top of the release tab on the plug and pull it out of the switch.

Step 4
Remove the retaining nut on the brake light switch and slide the switch forward until the push rod on the switch clears the hole in the mounting bracket and then pull the switch down to remove it.

Step 5
Install the new switch. Installation is the reverse of removal.
