How to Convert Dollar to Rupees

A trip to India is an exciting prospect. Of course, when planning any trip abroad, money is always part of the equation. Whether you are traveling to India for business or leisure, it is important to know approximately how many rupees you can get for your dollars. While the subject of exchange rates can be a frustrating and tedious subject, converting dollars to rupees is something that you can do in a matter of seconds.

Instructions

1. Find a currency conversion calculator. There are several online. Try the calculators at Oanda.com or XE.com

2. Input the amount of currency you wish to convert. Make sure to select "US Dollars (USD)" from the menu.

3. Select "India Rupees (INR)" from the next menu.

4. Select the date. Some currency calculators will allow you to select the exchange rate for a certain date. In most situations, you will want to stick with today's date, as this will give you the most current exchange rate. Nevertheless, this feature can be of use if you wish to calculate the conversion rate for an earlier date.

5. Press "Convert." The conversion will be displayed on the screen.
