Cover an ugly view. Curtains can help cover up a less than attractive view. Measure the wall from top to bottom. Include any windows and moldings on the wall. Measure out a length of fabric. Allow for a one inch seam allowance. Cut out fabric to cover nearly the entire wall. Pin the fabric to the wall with small thumbtacks at regular intervals along the each of the sides.

Make a bed canopy. Turn an ordinary bed into a canopied feminine fantasy with fabric. Create your own romantic retreat in any bedroom. Measure the entire length of the bed. Attach three wall hangers to the very topmost point of the wall just below the ceiling. Measure out fabric so that it reaches from the top of the wall hangers, falls over the bed and spreads about an inch across on the side of the bed. Drape the fabric over the wall hangers. Poke small holes in the fabric. Attach the fabric to the wall hangers with strong thread pulled through the holes. Add a drop of glue to the holes to secure the fabric tightly.

Frame a beautiful view. Fabric can be used to help enhance a pretty view. Measure the space around a window. Drill holes an inch above the window. Place curtain brackets in the holes. Secure with small screws. Slide curtains on top of a curtain rod. Use the size of the window to guide your decision about curtains. Small windows work best with smaller window treatments such as cafe curtains. Larger windows can be used with more dramatic curtains such as balloon shades.

Call attention to a piece of artwork. Add additional interest to a painting or other wall hanging. Measure the piece of artwork. Drill holes along side of the art. Push small pegs in the holes to hold the fabric in place. Measure out the fabric and attach to the walls around the art. Use curtain fabric with similar colors to the art. Let the curtains fall to the floor and help frame the piece.
