Try out various draping techniques with your fabric before cutting or stitching. A simple, yet elegant, look is to loosely tie the fabric to each bed post, allowing equal drape between each one. You can also cross the fabric to opposite corner posts to create a distinctive appearance.

Tips & Warnings
Choose a color in your room to use when selecting the draping fabric. This color should either match existing colors or complement them. Choose a color that will go along with your current palette.
Determine the fabric's ability to drape by pulling out a length from the bolt and gathering it in one hand. Allow the fabric to fall in pleats over your other arm. Raise and lower both arms to see how well the fabric bends and flows with the movements. Any fabric that is too stiff will not drape well.
Avoid fire hazards by keeping the fabric away from light fixtures.
