The Eureka Extended Stay tent is a three-season tent that, with its large mesh windows and doors, is very comfortable in hot weather. The rainfly is will keep out moderate drizzle, but a driving rain may soak through since the fly doesn't extend down on all four sides. The Extended Stay is mainly meant for car camping close to the road. The number of poles makes it hard to set up by yourself, and the tent itself is heavy.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Tent
  • Poles
  • Rainfly
  • Stakes
  1. Step 1

Spread the tent out on the ground and pull out all four corners. Assemble all the color-coded poles and keep the same color poles grouped together with each other.

  2. Step 2

Slide the long gray fiberglass pole through the gray sleeve and the long black fiberglass pole through the black sleeve. The poles will form an X.

  3. Step 3

Take the shorter of the two short black fiberglass sections and place into the end of front hub and into the pocket of the fly. Take the longer of the two short black sections and do the same at the rear hub. Repeat the procedure with the two short gray sections. This should pop the tent up.

  4. Step 4

Take two of the blue steel poles and insert them into the hub at the front so they form an A. Insert the pins on the hub into the bottom of the poles.

  5. Step 5

Repeat Step 4 with two of the brown steel poles. Then take one of the short brown poles and, from the top of the A, insert it straight down into the sleeve of the hub and insert the pin at the center of the sleeve into the pole.

  6. Step 6

Finish erecting the other two blue poles and other two black poles, just as you did with the first two of each color. Once the tent is assembled, reach under the fly and take the pole clips and clip them to the poles; the clips are color coded according to the poles.

  7. Step 7

Stake the tent down at the corners, stretching it out so it is tight.

Tips & Warnings
  • Cut a ground cloth or a tarp to match the size of the tent and put it under the floor of the tent to protect it before staking it down.
