Finding oil stains from food can always be disappointing. The greasy marks left after a meal can be gross and, at times, hard to remove. Isopropyl alcohol, a kind of rubbing alcohol commonly found around the house, can greatly help get oil stains out. The process is easy and can take as little as moments depending on the intensity, size and location of the stain.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Blot away any excess oily food stains on your carpet using paper towels.

  2. Step 2

Pour just a bit of isopropyl alcohol onto your white towel until it is damp, but not wet.

  3. Step 3

Use your towel to blot at the oil stain from the inside out until it goes away.

Tips & Warnings
  • Take care when pouring the isopropyl alcohol onto your towel and applying it to your rug. Too much alcohol can damage your rug.
