How to Make Scented Oil for Oil Burners

Adding ambiance to your home or workspace can be as simple as lighting an oil burner. Scented oils are a subtle way of adding fragrance to the air without using an aerosol can. Fragrance oils can be used year-round, and often make unique homemade gifts for friends and family or colleagues. By mixing a fragrance oil with a few other key ingredients, you can save money and create your own personalized fragrance. The combinations you can create are endless.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Measuring cup marked with ounces
  • Fragrance oil
  • DPG (dipropylene glycol)
  • Mixing bottle with cap
  1. Step 1

    Measure and pour 1 oz. of fragrance oil into the mixing bottle. You can mix more than one type of oil if you desire.

  2. Step 2

    Measure and pour 1 oz. of DPG into the same mixing bottle.

  3. Step 3

    Place the cap on the mixing bottle and shake it well for at least half a minute. You now have your own homemade scented oil, prepared to use in any oil burner.

Tips & Warnings
  • Mixing fragrances will give you a personalized scent.
