How to Remove Corns Naturally

Corns are thick, hard layers of skin that can develop on the toes, soles, or balls of your feet. These painful growths form when the skin attempts to shield itself from friction caused by ill-fitting shoes. Because the pain associated with corns is so great, wearing shoes can become uncomfortable and, for many people, impossible. However, many natural treatments are available to treat corns.

While raw fruits and vegetables are extremely beneficial in relieving pain associated with corns, the juices also aid in the healing process. Raw papaya, banana, lemon, pineapple, and potato have proved to be effective treatments for this condition.

The juice of the papaya and lemon is advantageous in treating corn pain. Apply a half teaspoon of the juice to the corn three times daily. Rubbing a raw potato on the affected area will yield the same results and its juice can reduce scars the corn may leave.

The peels of bananas and pineapples contain oils that assist in healing corns. Attach a piece of the skin of the fruit to the corn with string or duct tape, and leave on overnight. If necessary, wear a sock to ensure stability of the peel.

The milky juice of a fig is useful in treating corns that have developed over a long period of time. Cut a fresh fig in half and squeeze the juice into a bowl. Dip a cotton ball into the juice and secure to the foot using a bandage. Leave on for at least 3 hours or until the cotton ball is dry.

Chamomile is well known for its therapeutic qualities. A warm chamomile tea bath provides relief for tired and achy feet and also aids in healing stubborn corns.

Fill a basin or pedicure spa with warm-to-hot water and steep two or three chamomile tea bags in the water for at least 15 minutes. Soak your feet in the warm water for 20 minutes, which will soften the skin, making it easier to exfoliate using a pumice stone, if desired.

To prevent corns, choose your footwear wisely. Shoes that don't fit properly, whether too big or too small, cause friction on the vulnerable skin of the foot. Select shoes that don't slide at the back but that will allow enough room to wiggle your toes.
