Creamy caramel icing is just what it sounds like: a sweet treat that's ideal for dipping, toppings or spreads. The ingredients, if cooked correctly, will produce a sweet and creamy dessert that is sure to be a hit. Creamy caramel icing will make a pound cake even more interesting with its thick texture. If you are looking for a simple snack to serve at parties, events or just after a family dinner, creamy caramel icing is ideal. In fewer than 10 minutes, you can make creamy caramel icing and serve it on your favorite cake or as a dip for fruit slices.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 tsp. vanilla extract
  1. Step 1

    Preheat the stove top to medium-low heat. Mix the brown sugar, butter and milk together in the pot and place it on the stove. Stir constantly.

  2. Step 2

    Continue to stir as the mixture thickens. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract.

  3. Step 3

    Stir the mixture until it is thick and creamy. Add to your favorites and serve.

Tips & Warnings
  • Caramel icing goes well with fruit, but it is typically used for cakes.
