Many people are so driven in their professional lives that they may push themselves to the point of mental exhaustion. Feeling worn out is bad for your immune system, your mind, even your professional life. Dealing with your mental exhaustion instead of trying to power through it will lead to a happier, more productive life.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Perform stress-reducing activities such as meditation, yoga or Tai Chi to calm your mind. Enjoy a hobby to take your mind off work for an hour or so.

  2. Step 2

Live a healthy lifestyle. Eat a balanced diet and exercise for half an hour at least three times a week. If you're feeling too drained for vigorous exercise, take an easy walk instead.

  3. Step 3

Get enough sleep. Some people need nine to ten hours of sleep to feel awake and refreshed the next morning. Know your body's needs.

  4. Step 4

Get away for a few days. Take a weekend trip to a scenic destination.

  5. Step 5

Let it go at the end of the day. You will not accomplish any more at work or resolve issues by sitting around and worrying at home. If you can't do anything about something at the moment, call it a day and relax. You can always deal with work another time.
