1
Soften the Fimo clay in your hands. Because the clay is quite hard, you will need to soften the clay so that it is pliable. Rub the clay in your hands, pinching and kneading until it squishes easily. Do this to both colors.
-
2
Feed the Fimo clay through the pasta machine on a medium setting. You don't want the clay to be too thick. You should need to make only one pass. Do this with both colors.
-
-
3
Lay the Fimo clay on a flat surface and cut off the rough edges with your razor blade. You will be left with a nice rectangular shape of clay. Do this to both pieces.
-
4
Lay one piece of clay on top of the other.
-
5
Run your brayer over the clay pieces to create a bond.
-
6
Roll the clay. Take the edge of the clay and roll it over (toward the inside of the clay) continuing until your reach the end of the clay. Press the seam with your fingers to make sure it is closed.
-
7
Roll the clay back and forth over your work surface using your hands. This will lengthen your cane. Use moderate pressure. Let your clay sit for about an hour to cool. The clay will be soft due to the heat from your hands, making it more difficult to cut.
-
8
Trim both ends of the cane with your razor blade to finalize your basic Fimo cane.
