How to Prevent Blood Clots With Diet
Arteries are blood vessels which transport blood throughout the body. Ideally, the walls of the arteries should be clean and clear. If the blood contains fatty deposits of cholesterol, fat and cell waste, they eventually are deposited on arterial walls. Over time, this build up, known as plaque or artheriosclerosis, leads to narrowing of the artery. If the plaque breaks loose, the body in attempting to repair the tear will clot the wound. If the location of the clot blocks blood flow, it can lead to a heart attack, stroke or embolism.
