How to Transfer Contacts From Your iPod to Your Mac

With an iPod Classic, Nano or Touch, you can sync contact information from your computer and store it on your portable device. The transfer process also works the other way around, so if you happen to delete your contact data from your computer, your iPod can be used to restore it. Contacts will be restored to the Address Book application on your Mac computer.
