A headlight lens is clear glass or plastic and covers your headlight bulb. Over time the lens will turn a yellow color, oxidize and get scratched, which prevents your headlight beam from shining as brightly as possible on the road ahead. With a professional product, you can easily restore your headlight lenses and make them look new.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Standard drill with buffer attachment
  • Micro-fiber cloth
  • Professional headlight-cleaning product
  1. Step 1

Attach the buffer attachment to your standard drill. Apply a half-dollar size drop of headlight lens cleaner product to the buffer pad. You can use any brand of cleaner, such as Meguiar's.

  2. Step 2

Place the buffer and cleaning product on the headlight lens and turn the drill on. Work the product into the headlight lens. Make sure not to miss any spots. It will take 1 to 2 minutes to buff the product into the lens properly.

  3. Step 3

Wipe off all the cleaning product with a micro-fiber towel. Use the same wrist motions you would use to wipe dried wax off your car paint. Your headlight lens should be free of scratches and discoloration.
