Obtaining a police report in the state of Colorado is easier than you might think. Depending on which county and department you are trying to obtain the report from, there are different laws and procedures you will need to follow. Colorado state law permits police to redact sensitive portions of reports, according to the Clear Creek Sheriff's Department.

Visit the Sheriff's department or download a request form from the website. Police reports are available to anyone.

Calculate the exact cost of obtaining your report. The cost to obtain a police report is $1 per page and can be paid using cash, check or money order.

Submit your payment for the report to the Clear Creak Sheriff's department. After a member of the Record's Division has contacted you, you will receive the report within seven days.

Request the report from the Colorado Springs Police Department. You will need either a case number and victim's name, a victim's name and date of birth, or a suspect's name, date of birth, date of incident and incident location. Send a letter requesting the report to the police department.
