Step 1
Click "Start" and select "Run" to open a Run window.

Type "REGEDIT" in the "Open" text box in the Run window, then click the "OK" button. This opens the Registry Editor.

Click the plus (+) sign next to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER" in the left-side navigation pane of the Registry Editor. This expands the tree. Click to expand "Control Panel," then click to expand "don't load."

Step 4
Right-click the "don't load" subkey in the right-side content pane of the Registry Editor, and then click the "Delete" button in the context menu. This restores all missing Control Panel files and their associated icons.

Step 5
Exit the Registry Editor to complete the process. The missing files will be restored when you next open the Control Panel.
