VMware is a software application that allows the user to run multiple virtual machines from a single hardware installation. If you are running the VMware Workstation software on a computer, for example, you can use VMware to run two Windows XP installations or an XP and a Vista installation. When you are working in one of the virtual machines, you must first return to the VMware console if you want to switch to a different virtual machine. You can get to a VMware console session from within the virtual machine using keyboard commands.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Press and hold the "Ctrl" key.

  2. Step 2

Press and hold the "Alt" key.

  3. Step 3

Release the keys simultaneously. This exits the virtual machine and returns you to the VMware console session.
