There are many useful ways to use virgin coconut oil for better health. A very rare fatty acid called lauric acid is found in virgin coconut oil. You can't find any other source that contains this high amount of the lauric acid, other than in the mother's milk. 50% of the fats are made up of lauric acid. Virgin coconut oil is made up 92% saturated fats.

Saturated fats are typically bad fats, so it appears virgin coconut oil would be bad for your health. In fact these fats are good for your health. The lauric acid is a rare saturated fat, that is not found in your everyday diet. Some saturated fats are in fact good for you. So if you have heart problems, realize these saturated fats won't contribute to an increase in cholesterol and cause heart diseases. In fact it supports a good heart function. Virgin coconut oil is fresh and organic. Virgin coconut oil comes from fresh coconuts. So make sure you're getting unrefined coconut oil, to get the full benefits of coconut oil.
