Many dedicated dog owners like to buy gifts for their dog at Christmas. Some of us even hang a stocking up with our dog's name on it. Even if finances are tight this year there are still ways to keep your dog on your gift list.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

If your dog's bed is worn out, this would be a good time to buy it a new one. Many stores put pet beds on sale during the holiday season. Comparison shop when buying a new bed for your dog. Also, take into consideration the needs of your dog. If you have an older dog, a therapeutic bed might be a good investment. If your dog likes to snuggle under cover, there are beds designed to allow for that luxury.

  2. Step 2

There are numerous useful, practical gifts you can purchase for your dog at Christmas. You could buy them new dog bowls, new toys, a sweater if your dog wears one, or dog grooming items. Your dog might not consider these to be good gifts but if you include their favorite treat inside the package they will be pleased. Buy them a bakery doggie cookie or make some homemade dog treats for your dog.

  3. Step 3

Stock up on their favorite treats as a Christmas gift for your dog. Buy a special kind of food for them that you seldom purchase but know they like. And, be sure to shop the after Christmas sales for half price stockings filled with dog treats. Your dog won't mind if they receive a big stocking full of toys and goodies a day or so after Christmas.
