You can sell your hair, if it’s long enough and in good enough condition. People are willing to spend hundreds, even sometimes thousands, for human hair to be used in wigs, hairpieces and extensions. Here’s how to make money selling your hair.

1. Take excellent care of your hair if you plan to sell it. You will make the most money for virgin hair. That’s hair that has never been permed or dyed. Use natural products for your hair. Don’t shampoo daily, as that will strip natural oils from your hair and might dry it out. Every other day is fine. Keep your hair trimmed to prevent split ends, and always let it dry naturally instead of using a blow dryer.

2. Grow your hair as long as possible. People are willing to pay more the longer it is. You’ll need at least 10 inches of hair before you try to sell it, but hair 12 to 24 inches(or even longer) will be more likely to sell for a good profit.

3. Sell your hair in a variety of ways. You can put an ad to sell your hair in the classified section of your local paper, place an ad on Craigslist, or even try to sell your hair on Ebay. There are also websites online just for selling human hair.
