Things You'll Need:
- 4-inch-round potted flowers
- 6-inch-round clay flower pots
- Tray
- Spanish moss
- 1- to 2-inch wide silk ribbon (optional)
-
Step 1
Paint the outside of your clay flower pots with an acrylic paint in any color to coordinate with the color of the flowers. A bright yellow or green works well. If decorating for a wedding reception, coordinate the colors to match the bridal colors. Let the pots dry completely.
-
Step 2
Water your potted flowers well before adding to the flower pots. Let the flowers sit in a sink and drain completely until no more water drips out of the bottom. Pick off any dead leaves. Keep your flowers in the 4-inch pots they came in and set each flower in a clay pot.
-
Step 3
Place the tray in the middle of the table. Lay Spanish craft moss on top of the tray and spread out so it hangs over the edge of the tray.
-
Step 4
Place the potted flowers on top of the tray. Depending on how big the tray is you can group about four or five potted flowers on the tray. Spread the moss on the tray a little so each pot is sitting level on the tray so it won't tip over.
-
Step 5
Cut ribbon into 12-inch pieces (optional), enough for each pot you are using. Tie the ribbon around the pot about 1 to 2 inches below the top edge and tie into a bow.
