Things You'll Need:
- Push broom or soft rag
- Dustpan
- Tile cleaner
- Bucket
- Fleece rag
- Terry cloth hand towel
-
Step 1
Sweep the floor with the push broom. A push broom has a wider range and can keep small particles in line. Push the grime and dirt from the floor into the center of the room. Sweep the dirt into the dustpan. If you are cleaning countertops or walls, brush them with a soft rag or duster.
-
Step 2
Add hot water to the bucket until it is about a quarter full. Pour in half of a 32-oz bottle of tile cleaner, such as Mr. Clean Antibacterial All-Purpose Cleaner or Granite Gold Stone & Tile Floor Cleaner.
-
Step 3
Clean the area manually. Wear kneepads or put a towel under your knees for additional comfort if you are cleaning the floor. Pick about a 5-foot area to start. Once you complete steps 4 through 6, move on to another section.
-
Step 4
Dunk the fleece rag into the bucket. Wring it out and scrub back and fourth on the segment. Wring out the grime from the rag. Scour the area once more.
-
Step 5
Rub down the 5-foot area with the terry cloth hand towel. Dry fully. Do not air-dry as the shine can dull and water spots will form.
