How to Remove Urine Smell From Dirt or Soil

If Rover has been using your flower bed to do his business, then you may want to look into using a readily available kitchen product to clean up the mess and ensure the urine odor doesn't become permanent. Fortunately, removing the smell of urine from your dirt is an easy process.

Things You'll Need

• Trowel
• Water
• Baking soda

Instructions

1. Water the affected area. This will help dilute any urine that may have accumulated.

2. Dig the area up with a trowel. This will help break up the dirt and bring as much urine as possible to the surface.

3. Combine half a cup of water with a cup of baking soda. Mix until the baking soda is a paste.

4. Apply the baking soda to the area using the trowel.

5. Allow the mixture to sit for at least an hour.

6. Wash off the baking soda with water.

7. Use the trowel to smooth over the dirt.

Tips & Warnings

• Do not use any sort of acidic product to treat urine smell in your lawn, garden or any soil where plants grow. This could disrupt the pH level of the dirt.
