Things You'll Need:
- Trim removal tool
- Screwdriver
-
Step 1
Remove the screws on the inside door panel near the door hinge.
-
Step 2
Remove the screws on the door's armrest and handle assembly.
-
Step 3
Pry the inside door panel off using a trim removal tool. Wedge the teeth of the tool behind the door panel and pry the panel off. Take your time. The door panel uses retaining clips to secure the panel to the door frame. If you don't pry hard enough, the panel will not come off. However, if you pry too hard, you will break the clips right off and will have a hard time securing the panel to the door when you put the door back together.
-
Step 4
Reach behind the panel and remove the two bolts that hold the exterior door handle in place.
-
Step 5
Pull up on the lock rod mechanism and push the exterior door handle out to remove it.
